24 Weeks and a Cousin Date

We are now 24 weeks pregnant! Oh my! The time is zooming.

The other day Dave asked if I could "put it on hold".
Oh yes, because if I could, I would love to be uncomfortable, hot and fat with heart burn for longer than necessary. Oh and wait longer to meet son #2! What a crazy!

 ----------------------------------------------------------------

Speaking of crazy, last night we met up with Aunt Whitney, Uncle Josh and cousin Riley for live music and froyo. Those kids sure do like to run around and be wild.

Growing

Welp folks, the time has come for our family (and my belly!) to grow.

Baby number 2 is in the oven!

Is there even room in Summer 2012 for another baby??

Little Miss Riley Jo Jo

I love my niece, she is the most precious thing in the world.

Owyn is also smitten. He talks about her ALL the time. Everything that is pink, girl or baby, he thinks it belongs to Riley. Sometimes he wakes up from a nap and asks for her. It's adorable. But, when they are together after a while, he starts acting up and doesn't know how to express his emotions and takes it out on her. It's pretty sad.

He likes to teach her everything he knows. Some stuff, I wish he'd leave out..

Have I Mentioned the Good News?

My sister moved back from Nashville with her family!
AAHHHHHH!

It's like my life just got 20x better.
I get to see my niece and my sister any day I want!
My mom helped them with the drive across country and she stayed with us the past couple days. It felt so good being together just us gals again.

Is she not the cutest thing??

I. E. S. and a Wedding!

My cousin Zack got married today.
I have a love/hate relationship with weddings. I enjoy them but they make me cry.
This is a serious problem because it triggers my IES.

What is IES you ask? Irritable Emotion Syndrome.
Similar to IBS. I am usually emotionally constipated. I feel very uncomfortable and bloated with emotion that just doesn't want to come out (or maybe I just don't want it to). So naturally, when it hits, it hits hard. Like a hurricane. Once I let go, it all comes pouring out. You see how a sweet romantic wedding could cause a big problem? Hey- what's wrong with the white girl?

Most people in my family suffer from this disease. I think it's genetic.

Anyway, back to that mushy stuff.. take a look at how handsome my cousin is in uniform. I am so proud.

Warning: my picture quality is poor.

Miss Riley

Look at how adorable my niece is.
I can't wait to see her in March and introduce her to her cousin who is dying to meet her!
Owyn loves looking at pictures of Cousin. He says "baayyyby" and kisses the computer screen. It's precious.

My favorite things about Riley include:

the "prune face" she gives for pictures
her chubby cheeks
her super stylish outfits
the way she seems so cool and relaxed all the time
her thighs

these are my favorite thing as of right now in this very moment, but I love everything about her. After March there will be a whole lot more!

Gifts from Grandma

My Grandma I always has a pile of things to send home with me for the next time I stop by. Both of my grandma's know me so well. I feel like we all have the same taste in things. Remember when my Grandma N gave me these doilies?

My latest possession has been basic white plate that I've been wanting and an antique china set. I found the perfect place for them in the cupboard in the dining room.

Party with the B's

Saturday we were lucky enough to celebrate a couple birthday with my lovely family from my mothers side. I love them. It's always a good time, never a dull moment. Owyn was on his (least) best behavior but of course had all the woman drooling over him. What a ham!

Happy Birthday to Grandpa John, Uncle Josh and cousin Aiden.

Buffet + Skee-ball + Children = Sickness!

This weekend I had one of those ticks to get out of the house and do something fun.
There's not a whole lot of options when you have an 18 month old crazy child. So, Saturday night we went to Amazing Jake's. I was hesitant but I really wanted Owyn to have a good time. We were totally ripped off, ate a nasty buffet and were run over by angry greedy little children. All around it was classic good family fun. (It actually was). We took Owyn on the carousel and the train and he loved them. He kept a half-grin on his face and made a continuous high-pitch "eeeeeee" while the ride was running. I was crying in laughter it was so funny.

Last night (Sunday) I went to dinner with some friends and had a great night. Then, I woke up at 2am and began vomiting my guts out. It was the most hard-core sickness I've ever experience. So hard-core my hangy-ball thing in my throat (whatever that thing is called) was so inflamed I couldn't swallow all day today. Thank goodness Dave stayed home from work today to take care of Owyn. As if being sick all night without any sleep wasn't enough, I am now experiencing symptoms of a sinus infection. Wow body, what perfect timing with it being the beginning of the semester and my new job. Way-to-go immune system!

This is why I hate places like Amazing Jake's or any where else children come to fester.
Yes, I am pointing all of my blame on that place. So shoot me!

By the way, what's with parents bringing their sick children out?
It's really starting to annoy me.

As much as I'd like to (and have already) complained, we really did have a good time.

Christmas Eve- In Pictures

Okay, so I know I post a lot of pictures. Well, I take a lot of pictures and Im a very indecisive person so I can never chose just one or two. I realized I post to many once Blogger didn't let me upload any more until I purchased more storage through Picasa. Don't worry, I have plenty of space now!
Here are some pictures from our lovely Christmas Eve.
I love Christmas Eve almost more than Christmas. It's the anticipation.
After working Eve morning (boo) we made our rounds of dropping off gifts. In the night we ( Owyn and I) baked holiday cookies for the Christmas party. He was such a big help. We then walked to Temple lights. I LOVE where we live. We like just a couple blocks away from the temple and downtown. The houses all around have so much character and I discover a new one everyday. Owyn loved the Temple lights and had such a good time running around like a big boy. And for myself, it really got me into the holiday spirit and reminded me of the great importance of the birth of our Savior. (Even though we're not LDS).

Following tradition, we each opened one gift Christmas Eve night. Owyn- Lego's from Grandma G, Me- new ruffled duvet cover, Dave- Van's.   We also watched a Charlie Brown Christmas.

It was a really exciting weekend, but I have no pictures to prove it.

Last weekend flew by so fast.
We were so busy I never had a chance to take out my camera.
Pathetic.

Mom and Scott were in town and stayed in our guest room. They came in to meet my nephew.
Athen. What a cutie!

They came in Friday night, but I had an event to attend to.
It was the Fall Opening Reception at the ASU art Museum and I had a chance to go to Four Peaks and then the reception with my co-workers/mentors from MCA. They networking opportunity was way too great to pass up. I am so glad I was able to go because I met so many people standing by the side of our associate curator and registrar. They are so good to me over there at MCA and I am lucky to be apart of their group and everyone I met Friday even told me so.
After meeting people and running into fellow class mates and previous instructors, my lovely Dave and Owyn came to see me. I was able to show them off to everyone. I like to stay professional at school because this industry is such a small network of people and you never know who's gonna be a good reference or interviewing you for a job someday so it was nice to let down that wall and introduce those people who see me as the serious Chelsea to my son and let them see me as a mother.

--------------------------------------------------------

Saturday morning Owyn and I went with Mom and Scott to run errands for the big party we had later that day for new baby Athen. We went to Costco and my mom got Owyn a giant Pillow Pet.

The party was great. Just like every other family get-together it was loud. very, very loud. The kids run around screaming, Im not really sure why, and the adults talk loud over each other- my family has a whole lot of women. The only difference this time was that Owyn joined in on the chaos. I was pretty surprised. I guess he's a Buri. He ran around with the kids yelling. It was pretty funny. That boy copies everything these days.

I love hanging out with the Buri's. I get to laugh and gossip with my aunts, talk to my cousin Victoria about how crazy our moms are, play with my little cousins, get made fun of for one thing or another by my uncle and clean with my grandmas. We all wished my very pregnant sister was there. We miss you! You'll be here soon! Someday Owyn and Riley will be laughing about how crazy we are.

---------------------------------------------------------
Sunday was nuts because...
my mom was in urgent care because she did something to her back and couldn't move,
I had a benefit show at MCA that I had to attend, and
I had to work after the benefit show at Lucky until 2:40am.
It was exhausting and all I wanted to do was go home cuddle with Owyn and spend time with my mom.

------------------------------------------------------------

Monday was also busy because I had sleep to catch up on,
an interview to conduct with a volunteer director,
dropped mom and scott off at the airport and went straight to dinner
to a friends birthday dinner, went home and wrote a paper until midnight.
Today is school and then work until 10.

Tomorrow I intern all day.

Thursday I have school and a concert.

Friday I pack and Saturday I leave for Nashville.

This is my life.
