Happy Birthday to ME!

Yesterday was my 23rd birthday! Can you believe that?
The years keep passing and still I feel like I never get any older.
The secret?... surround yourself with people older than you. You'll never catch up!
I'm always the youngest one around. I used to be embarrassed to tell people how young I was because I thought they'd think I was naive or treat me differently, but now I embrace it!
So here I am. Twenty-three years young.

I consider myself very lucky to have my birthday on the ides of March.
Every years it has fallen on Spring break so I've always been able to do fun things.
Thinking back on all of my birthdays, I have spent them in L.A., San Diego, Las Vegas, Puerto Rico and Mexico.

This year, we went to see Radiohead!
We've seen them once before in California but I never thought Id get to see them again, none the less ON my birthday!

I went to work and taught a class and then they had a little party for me with coffee cake. Then Dave came home from work early with a variety of desserts from AJ's Fine Foods and a box from Anthropology. It didn't take him long to figure out he could walk into that store, pick up anything, place it in those cute white boxes and Ill be thrilled. I love seeing what he picks out for me. It's cute. I did ask for a pool for my birthday, but I haven't received one yet, so I'm guessing that means the whole pool thing is a no-go? After gifts we went to happy hour/early dinner at Postinos (YUM!!) and then to the show.

This morning Dave left for work and then 40 minutes later, he was back home!
While on his way he figured it would be nice to take a personal day to spend some time with us. It was the best surprise of all! We then spent the morning shopping which included me buying my first maternity garb EVER!  Holy cow, no one ever told me how comfortable these crazy elastic waistband pants are!

They're still a little weird tho.

In Bloom

Everything around my house is in bloom right now.
I've been finding myself sitting on the patio just breathing in the fresh jasmine scent that fills the air once the sun begins to set.

That has a lot to do with my absence on the ol' blog. I have been spending a lot of time relaxing and being.. happy! It's wonderful! Every time I'm pregnant (after the 1st tri, of course) I get really happy, like I'm floating on clouds. I've been cooking and keeping the house clean again and doing all of the things I love, away from the computer. I could definitely get used to this.

Another excuse for my absence is the fact that we've have been very very busy. Birthday celebrations, the Opera, concerts, being a bridesmaid..again, and lots of work. Work is busy right now because all of the schools take their field trips during the Spring semester, which means I've been giving lots of tours, which I love.

Last weekend I took baby bump to it's first Opera, Aida, with Grandma I and sister.
I got my first pair of opera glasses and black diamonds!

This week my mom comes into town!! For 2 weeks!! I cannot wait!

After she leaves we will be going off on an Easter vacation and then the concert season will be in full swing! We have a vacation, 3 concerts and the big wedding I'm in all in one month.
And then.. SUMMER!

AZ love

We have been soaking up this great weather and sunshine.
It seems like we are going on outdoor adventures everyday that I'm off.
I have reached the "ecstasy" stage of my pregnancy, so luckily my body has been allowing me to do all the fun stuff I want. I don't think that's a real stage, but that's what I call it because everything is bright and fluffy and I'm feeling fantastic.

Last week Owyn and I went to see the butterfly exhibit at the Desert Botanical Gardens which was really neat. He loved it. We also went to the zoo. On the first day of Spring Break, might I add. Thank goodness we're members so we could bypass the insane line they had!

Could this weather just stick around, like, forever?
