It always gets worst before it gets better.

Who ever started saying this?
And why are we okay with this?

I agree, it does always get worst before it gets better.
But at what point does it get better.

And if this was true, it wouldn't ever get better, it would only get worst.

This seems like the story of my life.
Each stressfull week that passes I take of breath of releif.
Only until I look at next week agenda.

It keeps getting more and more difficult to keep up with this fast pace lifestyle that I conciously (and nievely) chose for myself and my family.

Oh well. you live and you learn, right?
Thankfully summer is near.

{blurry Owyn being blown by the fan, looking real sad :( }
Last week Owyn became ill for the first time in the 9 months he's been breathing on this earth.
My poor little baby had a fever for 3 days not feeling well.

After he finally broke his fever, he broke out in a rash. It broke my heart.
(Too much breaking going on around here!)

It was a very nasty bright red rash that looks very painful. Of course I automatically started to think the worst, like chikenpox and blamed myself for having poor hygiene and being the compete opposite of a germaphobe (correct term is actually misophobe).

I turns out that he's picked the viral infection called Roseola. Harmless, common, blah blah blah.
I just want it to go away.

Mater Bath

{b-room image of ours, inspiration image and color swatches from Martha, chandelier from Ikea, hook and curtain form Anthropologie, wallpaper from The Wallpaper Company}

This is my inspiration board for our master bath.
I've been having a hard time trying to decide what to do with the two master baths
because they are so similar and I dont want them to turn out the same.

For ours, I decided I want something fresh and feminine.
If Dave doesn't like it then he can have one of the other b-rooms.
Maybe then I can get both clostes on either side of the bathroom entrance?

Guess who's 9 months old today

Owyn!!

There's Something Missing

Two years ago I gave my dog, Miss Mills, to my mom in Denver.
I've always had dogs around, but ever since I let her go there's been something missing in my life.

Luckily, Dave told me we can get a dog when we move into the house.
Which is at the end of this month!

The number one reason Im soo excited about moving into the house is so I can be a dog owner once again.

My dream is for Owyn to have a golden retriever like I always had growing up as a child.
But I won't discriminate! Ill take any loving dog that needs a good home and family.
It makes me sad thinking he/she is out there without us right now. Boo

Until then, Ill photoshop dogs into pictures of our house.
yes, this is what i spent my morning doing when i should have been filing out my intership paperwork.

Happy Monday

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

I spent mine mostly at work. wahoo!

Saturday we left the house before 9am and went out antique shopping. My favorite.
We also hit up an estate sale and Goodwill (it was 1/2 off day!)

We came home with these beauts ...

which I plan to re-upholster for the dining room with this green fabric...

I'm so glad it's Monday and I have nothing to do but smother
Owyn with love and take tons of pictures of him.

Happy Friday!

Owyn's pretty excited about the weekend.
Can you tell?

Storyboard

As you know, I am super excited about decorating the house.

I've never been able to paint and do fun projects to an entire house!
I've done little things to the apartment but I definitly havn't spent the time and money to decorate the way I want.

Im going a little crazy because there are so many rooms to decorate I don't know where to start.
there are 3 rooms, 3 bathrooms, an entry, a living room AND a family room, a dining room and a kitchen.

I've put together a storyboard to collaborate my ideas and inspirations on paper.
There's a page for each room.

Hopefully this will make it a lot easier.

Where's Owyn?

That's usually the game we play.
Find baby.

He gets himself into strange situations.

Alright, we cheated a little.

The other night I cheated on our lifestyle challange and made mini chimis.

I had avacados, tomatos and tortillas we had to use and we recently made fajitas (baked shredded cihcked and steamed peppers) so I wasn't sure what to make.

Somehow I got this brilliant idea to make mini chimis. Maybe because Dave loves them so much.

But anyway, they were awesome. And super easy.

I brought home a rotisserie, shredded it and heated it on the stove with green chilis.
Then I wrapped it in tortillas and fried them in oil. Yikes.

I still feel bad..

40's inspired

I'm loving the 40's inspired clothes these days.
And now that I'm finally starting to loose the 10 extra lbs Ive been
carrying around post-labor, my waist is starting to reappear!

Dave thinks I buy too much clothes
and doesn'tagree that that you have to buy new clothes "just because it's a new season",
but if he had an entire new body, Im sure he would be too.
Plus, what woman doesn't dress according to the seasons??
It's just common sense.

About Time

Owyn is finally starting to feed himself his bottle.

I know what you might be thinking,
how awful I am that I don't want to feed my own child.

As much as I love the sweetness of holding Owyn in my arms and staring at how cute he is,
sometimes it's nice to be able to give him the bottle and watch him feed himself.

It's amazing watching him grow and develope.
It makes me proud :)

House Update and Little Surprises

This morning we had the house inspection.
So far so good. We are soooo close to closing!

Our original closing date was April 15, but we're trying to push it back to the 30th.

Everytime I go to the house I fall more inlove with it.
Everytime, I discover little things that give it so much character...
and everytime, I loose my family in it. the house is large, has an interesting layout and has a ton of hiding spots.

three lovely surprises from today..

1.) our entire backyard is canopied by the mature trees that are scattered throughout, shading the entire yard from any angle of sun rays.

{this is only half the yard. it HUGE}

2.) little flower beds below our bedroom window which is on the side of the house where I plan to plant a vegetable garden.

3.) walk-through closet that leads from the hall bath to one of the master bedrooms (house has 2 master beds). Very strange, but perfect hiding spot for the kids.

I'm sure we'll only continue to find neat little things about this home.

A Night on the Town. The Old Town.

This past Saturday our little family spent the evening in Old Town Scottsdale.
Shopped/exchanged at Urban Outfitters, walked, ate, ect.

It was so beautiful outside. I love Spring!

Happy Easter

This year we spent our Easter Sunday with Dave's family. And it was lovely.

I missed my family all day long. Still missing them..

I love you guys!

btw.. you're all missing some great weather.
Im not sad I missed the earthquake that Dad and Wendy experienced today.

Meet My Mini

Dave gave me a Dell Mini for my b-day.
I LOVE my studio, but she hasn't been doing so well..
her screen keeps wanting to detach which makes her too fragile to tote back and forth from school.

The Mini weighs less than 3lbs and is super tiny, which is awesome for school.
But I realized that I still need my studio for the designing and other things that require a bigger screen
and key pad.

But look how cute she is..

 {Next to Owyn laptop}
{{Why does Owyn have a laptop?? Because he never leaves ours alone!
He love closing the screen and punching on the keys}}

All Hail LE CUBE

Today I finally received my christmas present from Dad and Wendy.
This machine is going to save my life!
And save me from going bankrupt by spending $5 everyday on lattes.

Thanks dad and Wendy for this miracle machine.
But mostly thanks to Wendy, because if it weren't for you dad would still be saying "its in the mail"
when in reality, it wouldn't be.

I'm so excited that we can now save all that money that shouldn't have been spent in the first place.

(now im sure dad will be calling any minute)
