Recently

It's obvious that I haven't been posting as much lately.

I recently discovered that when I'm not on the computer I'm getting a million other things done. Who would've known?

other things that have been happening recently:

- Trying to plan for our future and our next move. This includes where we want to buy our next house, when I should get a full time job, whether or not I should go to grad school, when to have our next child, what career changes Dave wants to make and what we should invest in. This grown up thing is hard.

- It has finally cooled off here in Phoenix. Thank goodness!
It's so hard getting out of bed in the morning.
I love bundling up in a blanket, drinking hot coffee and having an excuse to wear sweats.

Checking In

Hello there, internet friends.

I just wanted to check in and tell you that I am still alive.

The mister and I will be off on our honeymoon in just a short 2 days! I am SO EXCITED!

Everything has (so far) worked out perfectly. We are flying my mom out to watch Owyn, the dog and the house while we're away. We're flying into San Jose, starting off in Monterey and driving up the coast to Sonoma, and back down to San Fransisco. Sounds amazing right? We have flights, a car and a cottage for our 2 nights in Sonoma and that's all. No plans, no reservations, no where to be. I can't wait!

Today has been a perfect day. The weather is amazing, refreshing and motivating.
I've been in dire need of a day like this. It has been one crappy week.

I know this weather is only lasting a couple days but it's getting me so excited for our San Fransisco vacation next week.

Please Fall, Come Quicker

We have been experiencing those perfect Fall mornings.
It only lasts until about 8:30 but hey, Ill take it. After all it has been high 90's in the mornings for months now.

Isn't it crazy how nice weather effects everyone so much? I couldn't imagine how happy and healthy everyone would be if we had nice weather all the time.

Stormy Night

Tonight we are enjoying a lovely, much longed for, rainy shower.

Of course, when the rain started pouring down, we were out at MCA's Season Kick Off.
We ran into the theatres, grabbed a beer and waited it out until it was light enough to run back to the car. We got home and had a little photo shoot.

It is actually chilly outside, guys. This is EXCITING stuff!
Fall is on its way!

This means I need to work steady hours to buy my new Fall wardrobe!
I have 2 weeks off from work, that is not good for my clothes fund.. not at all.

Pumpkins and Sharks

Here are some picture from Halloween, finally.
I'm taking it easy on blogger for the week because
I'm extremely overloaded with responsibilities right now and I'm starting to reach that breaking point I know all too well.

Dia de los Muertos

Happy Halloween!!!

Yesterday we went to the Dia de los Muertos festival in MAC to support the arts,
our city and the organization I work for.

Owyn had such a good time.
He loves mariachi bands.
He screamed out of excitement, dances around and clapped his hands for them.

We will be passing out candy tonight on Miller St.
Haven't thought of a costume yet...

Wining and Dining

Yesterday was our official anniversary.
We met ("talked for the first time") at a Halloween party, so Halloween is our unofficial anniversary.
We celebrate both.

I know I've already told the story of how we met but here is a short summary-
just because I love it so much:

It was a Saturday night and I went out to dinner with one of my bests (Kylie).  One of my other bests was having a Halloween party but I didn't feel like going. So, I went home after dinner. After sitting around the house for a little while I decided to make up a costume and stop by the party to see what it was all about. At the party a group of friends gathered around in a circle to watch a friend/band member of Dave's play tablas. I sat on the trampoline and watched from above. A ninja dressed in black came and sat next to me. Sais and all. I told him that I didn't like weapons nor ninjas and that he was making me feel uncomfortable. That ninja was Dave. He seemed to think I was very funny. I rambled on about silly things and he stared at me with an intense amount of interest and curiosity and laughed at everything I said. I'm sure I could count the amount of words he said on my two hands. I remember laying back and looking up at the stars. We pretended we were camping. Then we started talking about camping. After our little camp-out it was time for me to leave. And that was it. For a while.

That next week my friend told me how her friend kept mentioning me and really wanted my phone number but she wouldn't give it to him without my permission. I told her it was okay. And then of course I asked her all about him and heard nothing but pleasant things. It wasn't too long until he called. He called me right after a show he just played with his band Attack of the Giant Squid. We talked for a while and wanted to set up a date but I was about to get my tonsils removed that week. He called and text-ed throughout my entire recovery. I could barely talk and I sounded like a man but he still kept calling.

We finally got to meet up. We put together a puzzle, drank lattes and went on a walk around ASU campus. It was very friendly and he seemed very genuine. He even gave me a kiss on my cheek as he said goodbye. Awww.

It didn't take long until we fell in love. I can recall the night.
We were listening to this:

Listening to it makes my heart flutter and sends chills all over my body.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Ever since then he's been wining and dining me.

Last night's wining and dining took place at the quaint little bungalow style French restaurant

{image via here}

I didn't take any picture because it was too fancy a place to be pulling out my camera and snapping photos. Any place with escargots on the menu is no place for a camera.  We shared a bottle of wine, ate off each others French entree's and devoured a mouthwatering apple tart. It was so romantic. I've eaten a lot of really good meals in my life but this one is in the top 5 hands down. It's probably higher than that.

Check out their menu HERE and go if you ever  have the chance.
It was the cutest little place.

The Colors of Fall

These are the last pictures take before the birth of Riley Jo.
Doesn't Whitney make a beautiful pregnant woman?

I love Fall!

Ditching School on a Rainy Day

Yesterday I didn't go to school.
Not because it was raining, but because I didn't want to leave Miss Mitz alone.
I am so glad I didn't go because I wasn't expecting the weather that came around the time Id be riding my bike to school. Have I mentioned that I got a new bike this semester? She's pretty awesome. Vintage 1960's blue Schwinn. Ill post pics some times.

Anyway, back to the weather.. we had a HUGE storm yesterday. I think it was God answering my prayers. Every Sunday I beg for a week where the air to be cooler and sun to be dimmer.
I've really been angry with the sun shine lately.

This time of year is the worst because the sun is so dang low and it shines in your eye balls no matter what time of day it is. It's like 4:30pm all day long. -You know around the time rush hour begins and there's nothing you can do to block the sun because the visor is too short? You know what I'm talking about.

Well I'm no meteorologist, but I think we had microburst at our house yesterday.
Within 5 minutes it began raining which turned to hail and the wind was so strong I couldn't see outside my window. I couldn't even tell which direction the wind was headed. It was nuts. It only lasted 5 minutes and within seconds it stopped and the sky cleared. Strangest thing ever. I walked outside to find the streets flooded, everyone's trash floating on their side, out rv fence completely blown over and a large dead tree in our side yard uprooted and laying on the ground. Our yard was covered in ice balls bigger than Runts.

It was pretty scary. I thought our windows were gonna break from the ice.
Weird thing is that Owyn fell asleep right when the chaos began and stayed asleep.
